Detector/checkweigher deliver QC for bakery

Tim Bartlett, new product development technician and purchasing manager for Crepe Cuisine, says, “We chose the Avery system because we were looking for reliable equipment that could fit within our existing manufacturing process scheme with a minimum of installation and maintenance fuss. Product [packaged in thermoformed, gas-flushed, 135mm x 135mm x 40mm APET trays] flows seamlessly through this automatic inspection system, and does
not require any operator handling. This system allows us to conduct 100-percent weight
compliance checks versus about five-percent with our previous checkweigher. It also inspects up to 60 packs per minute for contaminants, which is a speed commensurate with our production needs.”
