Global technology, software, and engineering expert Emerson will present its latest fit-for-purpose packaging solutions from AVENTICS™ and Afag brands at PACK EXPO 2026 from October 18-21 in Chicago.

The Emerson booth (North Hall, Booth N-5449) will feature the company’s latest precision compressed air motion control, electric motion and handling, and integrated control solutions. From PET and glass blow molding through filling to thermoform, fill and seal (TFFS) and secondary packaging applications, Emerson technologies enable faster, smarter and more reliable beverage and packaging lines.

Visitors can learn about:

  • AVENTICS proportional valves, dome regulators and blowing blocks engineered to improve high speed reliability and quality in PET and glass molding
  • Afag feeding and handling systems and FDA-certified proportional valves that offer greater flexibility, hygiene and precision in TFFS lines
  • Customized filling valve units, pusher units and smart sensors designed to improve throughput and food safety on filling lines

Presentation and event highlights:
Emerson will present “Blow by Blow: Stabilizing High-Speed PET Bottle Forming Through Precise Pressure and Motion Control” at the PACK EXPO Innovation Stage 2 (N-4580) at 3 PM on Tuesday, October 20. Manuel Görbert, segment marketing manager of Factory Automation at Emerson, will share how to precisely control the blowing profile across pre-blow, intermediate and final stages, eliminating process inconsistencies and minimizing bottle bursting at the source. Attendees will learn how dynamic proportional control can reduce scrap, enable lightweighting, protect product performance and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Red and black robotic arm assembly with white tubing and mechanical components in industrial settingIn the Emerson booth, a hybrid motion demonstration shows how packaging systems can benefit from the speed and precision of electronic actuation and the flexibility and compliance of pneumatic actuators and grippers in the same design.EmersonBooth highlights:
In the booth, show attendees can speak with Emerson experts, attend live demonstrations and see highlights from the comprehensive Emerson packaging portfolio, including AVENTICS™ and Afag brands:

A hybrid motion demonstration reveals how the combination of servo drives, motors, electric actuators and pneumatics in automation systems allows machine builders to capitalize on the strengths of both motion control technologies. With a hybrid system, OEMs can incorporate both the speed and precision of electronic actuation with the flexibility and compliance of pneumatic actuators and grippers in machine designs.

An interactive product wall includes a website configurator that visitors can use to specify an AVENTICS Series XV valve system. With millions of possible configurations and high flow rates, AVENTICS Series XV pneumatic valves give OEMs enhanced design flexibility and scalability when engineering handling systems and other packaging systems. Using the digital configuration tool, visitors can specify valve size, electronics, fieldbus protocol, pressure regulators, shut-off valves, flow modules and pressure-supply modules to match their exact application. AVENTICS Series XV valves include the XV03, providing flow volumes up to 350 liters NL/min, and the XV05, which can provide up to 1,000 liters NL/min.

Visitors to the AVENTICS proportional valve demonstration can see how tight pneumatic control can help OEMs stabilize high-speed packaging processes, such as those performed by PET blow molding stations and thermoform, fill and seal lines. AVENTICS Sentronic direct-acting proportional valves quickly control airflow, demonstrating precise responsiveness, while a proportional pressure regulator dynamically controls pressure to a Series RTC rodless cylinder, showing how using proportional pressure control can achieve specific motion profiles on pneumatic actuators. The best-in-class AVENTICS portfolio of direct acting and pilot-operated proportional valves range from <1-millimeter (mm) to 20-mm orifices, with highly configurable designs and optional custom control parameters.

For those whose applications have demanding sanitation requirements, visitors can view a washdown demonstration featuring the AVENTICS CL Series valve platform. These IP69K valve systems offer the flexibility of single-valve or manifolded options encased in a robust polymer housing designed to protect against high-pressure cleaning environments like those in food and beverage processing and packaging. This eliminates the need for an enclosure and allows valves to be mounted as close as possible to actuators for unrivaled response times. The housing material is resistant to sanitizing agents and aggressive chemicals, and its hygienic design is constructed without joints or gaps to prevent food particles, bacteria or moisture from becoming trapped. Available in two-way and three-way configurations with flow up to 1,100 l/min, AVENTICS CL Series valve systems provide actuation over fieldbus or direct wiring for an uncompromising machine design.

The high-speed pick-and-place demonstration uses a gripper to pick and replace LEDs from a fast-indexing rotary table. Combining modular, configurable, linear actuators with electronic grippers effectively demonstrates the kind of variable-speed use case prevalent in medical device packaging and small consumer packaged goods. The demonstration will focus on highlighting the importance of accuracy and speed to tighten cycle times and reduce engineering and maintenance costs.
