A-B-C Packaging Machine Corp.: Pack Expo Video: Case erector with print module

NEWS FROM PACK EXPO LAS VEGAS: A-B-C at PELV introduced case-erecting technology that allows packagers to economically print logos, batch codes, product identification, or other important data on both the side and end panels of their cases, in-line, during high-speed case forming and sealing. This new erector/printer offers complete flexibility, as information and graphics are applied to the case body or the flaps as cases travel from the magazine to the forming station. Once erected, the graphics may appear on multiple panels of the case, including the top, side, corner, or end. No longer do packagers need to buy several print heads, case turners or orienting devices, which are costly and can limit line speed, to code both the side and end of packed and sealed cases for pallet identification.

Cases are automatically printed on two sides (side and end) utilizing one print head, or all four sides (both sides and ends) using two print heads. Maximum print resolution and clarity are ensured, as the cases are fresh, clean, and flat when graphics are applied. The print control station is conveniently located next to the case erector's control panel, making it easy to switch cases and/or product labeling data in seconds. Each control station operates independently, allowing print data change at any time. Speeds up to 35 cases per minute may be achieved, dependent on the case graphics desired.
