Plastic Technologies develops web-based video training.

The PTI Online Academy formed to provide self-paced educational assistance for plastics industry professionals.

To help address the need for additional bottle-making and process knowledge by plastics industry professionals, a new on-demand, web-based video training program has been developed by Plastic Technologies Inc. (PTI). A 30-year provider of container development services and onsite training, PTI has created the PTI Online Academy with subject matter that targets entry-level professionals as well as seasoned veterans who can benefit from refresher courses.

“Driven by the employee turnover in the plastics sector and the need for professionals in new positions to ramp up their knowledge, we wanted to design a program that would provide in-depth information that can be used immediately to help meet business objectives,” says Donald Miller, Vice President, Technical Services. “Each of the sessions feature a lecturer and are supported by copy and graphics throughout the presentation. The presentation style allows the user to easily absorb the information and move through the coursework at their own pace.”

PTI Online Academy launches with multiple modules in the PET Basics and Performance and PET Processing sections.

The courses are:

  • Introduction to Polymers and PET
  • Container Design and Development
  • Preform Design
  • Barrier Container Technology
  • PET Recycling
  • Material Handling and Drying
  • Blow Molding Processing
  • Preform Heating
  • Blow Molding Machine Practical

Tuition for each course is $149. For more information, please visit www.ptionlineacademy.com.
