SICK, Inc: New vision sensors

Sick has launched two new vision sensors for packaging applications. The Area Gloss Detector (AGD) detects the gloss from a product, making it useful for bottle rotation or checking for weld seams or label presence; the AGD uses reflections created by its own integrated light source in order to detect orientation.

The new Date Code Inspector (DCI) vision sensor checks the number of pixels printed on a package’s date or lot code to verify clear printing. The integrated LED lighting illumination gives the DCI sensor superior contrast ability on even the most difficult applications—with no additional external lighting required.
