Occupying a compact footprint, the integrated machines are capable of unpacking, filling, sealing, and cartoning tubes at speeds to 200/min or higher, depending on tube size and viscosity. Built completely from the ground up around servo technology from Elau (Chicago, IL), the tube filler uses an ABB (New Berlin, WI) robotic arm to unpack cases of tubes and deliver them to an oval track for filling and sealing.
The use of servo motors to drive all major machine functions permits fast changeover--adjustment for different tube lengths may be carried out in less than 30 seconds, says the company.
The Norden "EasyWare" control system is said to combine flexibility and ease of use for the operator, and incorporates a new, efficient and user-friendly touchscreen panel.
A higher-speed version is available that can accommodate speeds up to 500 tubes/min, according to the company.
