Bossar: Vertical/horizontal f/f/s machine

See it at PACK EXPO, Booth #N-5536! Bossar’s BVH machine (Bossar Vertical Horizontal machine) is a servo-controlled machine that can form stand-up Stabilo-type pouches with the classic side-gusset folds and a stand-up base, and it can insert top spouts onto the pouches, making it suitable for liquids and free-flowing powders.

The machine combines two different technologies. First, the module that forms the pouch body is based on a proven v f/f/s technology complete with unwinder, forming tube, vertical quad seal introduction, and bottom seal to produce the square-shaped pouch, giving excellent pack rigidity.

Second, Bossar’s horizontal technology is introduced to open, fill, spout-insert, and close the final pack. In this area it is possible to fill up to three stations to complete the filling of the pouch.

Both vertical and horizontal modules are synchronized via servo motors enabling the length of the pouch to be altered from the touchscreen interface without stopping the production process.

Having several filling stations allows the customer to fill the pouch with different products or several different ingredients. Format changes are quick and easy with changeover times of approximately 20 min.

Another benefit of the full-servo technology on this machine is the independence of each movement allowing the filling, spout insertion, and final sealing to occur when the machine is stopped to ensure minimal product and packaging waste.

An intuitive touchscreen HMI ensures simple operation yet detailed parameter, job, and machine information. The BVH machine has an exclusive system that returns surplus energy to the electrical network, decreasing the machine’s electrical consumption to ensure a more sustainable manufacturing platform.
