Avery Dennison: Label adhesive advances recycling

Designed to advance the recycling of PET containers, CleanFlake from Avery Dennison is a range of label materials that includes an adhesive that separates from the PET flake upon recycling resulting in pure PET flakes, the conservation of virgin PET resources, and less landfill waste.

Although these labels adhere firmly to PET bottles or containers during use, they detach readily in a conventional recycling facility and rise to the surface in the float/sink separation phase, allowing clean PET flakes to sink for easier reclamation.

The CleanFlake portfolio now includes roll-fed sleeve constructions.
