Smart Planet Technologies' EarthLabel pressure-sensitive (self-adhesive) label uses EarthCoating, a mineralized coating alternative to a 100% polyethylene (PE) barrier coating, on its bottle label to provide high-quality moisture-barrier performance while reducing plastic content.

EarthLabel utilizes the protective barrier coating between the paper and adhesive, and is suitable for a viariety pressure-sensitive labeling applications. Labels produced using EarthCoating are resistant to wet conditions including refrigeration, water, and ice. EarthCoating is produced using up to 60% less plastic than PE, according to the company.
