Sluggish demand for fizzy drinks, due to a global push to a healthier
lifestyle, has driven Coke to target new line of premium coffees and
teas to sell through fast-food chains, gas stations, and upscale
restaurants. "It's a huge new category for the Coca-Cola company," said
Udaiyan Jatar, Coke's premium brewed beverage general manager. "The
coffee and tea business worldwide is about twice the size of the soft
drinks."
In Canada, Coca Cola eyes coffee market
Tapping into the market for premium espressos and lattes, Coca-Cola Co. launches "Far Coast," its own brand of specialty coffees in Toronto.
