No to organic logo on cosmetics

USDA says cosmetics and personal care products are not eligible to carry the "USDA Organic" label because no standards have been established for them.

The department created a program by which products, primarily food products, could be certified and labeled organic. A USDA spokesperson said the department has never authorized cosmetics and personal care manufacturers to receive the labels. Some manufacturers insisted they had won USDA approval.
