—Westvaco Corp. (New York, NY) entered into a joint development, manufacturing, and distribution alliance with Checkpoint Systems, Inc. (Thorofare, NJ).

—SWF Co. (Reedley, CA) acquired Tisma Machinery Corp. (Elk Grove Village, IL).

—Eastman Chemical Co. (Kingsport, TN) agreed to collaborate in the marketing and licensing of its Energx polyethylene with BP Amoco (Houston, TX).

—FP Intl. (Redwood City, CA) purchased the assets of FastTrack Packaging Systems from FT Acquisition (Horsham, PA).

—Temple-Inland Inc. (Austin, TX) signed a definitive agreement with Chesapeake Corp. (Richmond, VA) whereby Inland will acquire both Chesapeake Packaging Co. and Capitol Packaging Corp.

—Drug Plastics (Boyertown, PA) has acquired Top-Seal Corp. (Phoenix, AZ).
