So says Richard Hodge of Baldwin County, AL, in the Mobile area. What separates HeaterMeals (see Packaging World, March '96, p. 76) from other entrees is that a chemical heater, originally designed for military use, is packed into every carton. It allows the user to reheat the barrier-packed foods right in the folding carton. The folding carton also includes tableware, napkin and seasoning packets. Baldwin County officials first learned about the foods, marketed by Cincinnati-based HeaterMeals, Inc., when they attended a National Hurricane Congress last spring.
