The Klöckner Pentaplast Pentacard film line has been expanded to include new coated overlay films. Pentacard H140 is introduced for customers producing laminated cards using the HP Indigo digital printing process. Pentacard H140 films are engineered to bond to HP Indigo digital inks and provide excellent and consistently high peel values. In addition, the coating chemistry functions at lower temperature than standard overlay coatings, which is desirable when processing digitally printed graphics.
H140 coated overlay provides the card manufacturer the advantage of crisp visual graphics in the laminated card, avoiding cracks and color shifts which have been known to occur in the digital inks with higher laminating temperature. Pentacard H140 coated overlay films are available in 2-mil and 3-mil PVC thicknesses and are available in roll or sheet format. These new Pentacard coated overlay films are available from Klöckner Pentaplast in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico and are engineered to provide best-in-class performance.
“Digital printing is gaining momentum in the card industry, and is ideal for short run printing jobs and applications where variable data and/or graphics are desired,” notes Kent Sides, Director, Card Films, America. “Pentacard CC-1279/01 H140 films were developed based on a market need to optimize performance and visual appearance in finished laminated cards produced through the HP Indigo digital printing process. The expansion of our card film range to include these unique films continues to provide our customers with the broadest selection of high-performance films and hands-on technical support available in the global marketplace today.”
