By using the CO2 already available in the MA packages as trace gas, it is now possible to test packages in bulk for leaks shortly after they leave the packaging machine. This nondestructive test method can test 4 or 5 cartons/min. The package is placed inside a test chamber, and a user-defined vacuum is created.
