Evertis Ibérica's new extrusion line boosts output

Evertis Ibérica announces new extrusion line for 10,000 metric tons per year total output.

Global polyester-based film producer Evertis announces start-up of their new extrusion line increasing capacity by 10,000 metric tons per year and introducing new technology and films to their product portfolio. The new capacity is located at the group’s production facility in Portalegre, Portugal, where Evertis is vertically integrated with its sister company, Selenis, a Specialty PET resin producer.

Evertis invests in a state-of-the-art extrusion cast film line, with the ability to produce ABA structure PET base sheet, of thicknesses starting from 80 μm. This cutting edge extrusion cast film line is equipped with continuous optical inspection systems, as well automatic measurement and adjustment of the thicknesses of the film. In line lamination, in line slitting and an automatic winder, making this high-speed line (150 m/minute) even more efficient.

The expansion supports Evertis’ growth strategy where they envision becoming the second largest PET sheet producer in Europe over the next few years. Furthermore, the investment in a new technology targeting different applications will enable Evertis to penetrate new market segments.
