Lenze Americas appoints Doug Burns director of business development

Lenze, manufacturer of electrical and mechanical drives, motion control and automation technology, has announced the appointment of Doug Burns as director of business development for Lenze Americas.

Burns is responsible for the implementation and execution of strategies to help penetrate target markets – specifically the automotive, consumer goods and material handling industries. He will manage the identification and development of key target accounts and help grow OEM sales and support capabilities.

“We are pleased to have Doug head up Lenze’s strategic initiatives to help foster the growth of our key industries,” stated Chuck Edwards, president of Lenze Americas. “Doug will be a strong asset to Lenze – he brings extensive industry experience, profound leadership capabilities, and a successful track record working with key automation and motion control OEMs. We are confident that he will be very successful in building a strong team to serve our customers in these markets.”

Burns has over 30 years of experience in the industrial automation industry, holding a variety of positions in sales, business development, and management with GE Intelligent Platforms, Rockwell Automation and Magnetek. He earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Ohio Northern University and will be based out of Lenze’s Glendale Heights, IL facility.
