Duravant acquired Hamer, LLC, expanding its reach with packaging equipment and systems.

Ecolean opened a regional headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

WestRock Co. was announced by MeadWestvaco Corp. and Rock-Tenn Co. as the name for the new company pending completion of their merger.

ABB has started producing robots in the U.S., making it the first global industrial robotics company to fully commit and invest in a North American robotics manufacturing facility. The company made the announcement at the opening of a new robotics plant at its location in Auburn Hills, MI.

PaperWorks Industries, Inc. acquired CanAmPac, Napanee, Ontario, Canada.

Iggesund Paperboard is expanding distribution in the U.S., making its flagship product Invercote available coast to coast.

FOX IV Technologies introduced the TwinPrint® Print and Apply with 2ST™ technology printer-applicators, the next generation of its TwinPrint® dual-sided label printer-applicators. The release follows a new agreement with NCR to license its 2ST printing technology to FOX IV.

A HepcoAutomation partnership agreement will expand Kuka Robotics activities in general automation.

Berlin Packaging launched the industry’s first Quality Service Division dedicated to helping customers reduce waste, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen quality systems.

Coveris Holdings, S.A. acquired New Zealand-based Elldex Packaging Solutions.

Pregis LLC implemented education initiatives to support next-generation packaging professionals. Initiatives include student internships, mentoring, equipment/material donations, and event sponsorships.


Franck Vidal was named Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Fowler Products, div. of Pro Mach.

Nelipak Healthcare Packaging appointed Timothy Julian Vice President of Sales, Americas, and Frits van Gastel Global Director of Quality.

Susan Selke was named Director of the Michigan State University School of Packaging.

Intelligrated appointed Russ Mellott Vice President, Software Sales and promoted Bruce Sudler to Sales Manager, Midwest Regional Sales and Operations.

Bart Nollet was appointed Regional Sales Director, EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region.

Irene Low was hired as Business Development Leader for Multisorb Technologies.

Andrew Dougherty was promoted to Vice President of Member Services for PMMI.

Aldo Arcieri was hired as Latin America Sales Manager for Roberts PolyPro, div. of Pro Mach.

Craig Johnston was appointed Southeastern Regional Sales Manager for Schneider Packaging Equipment Co., Inc.

Robert Black joined Omron Automation & Safety as President & CEO.

Leo Zweig joined TricorBraun as Director of Supply Chain Management, Western Division.

Eriez announced the following new appointment and promotions: Lukas Guenthardt was appointed Executive Vice President, Global Strategy & Development; Mike Mankosa was promoted to Executive Vice President-Global Technology; and Tim Gland was promoted to Director-Erie Operations.

Tobin Haas was appointed Director of Business Development for T.H.E.M.


ARPAC was awarded Yaskawa’s 2014 Innovation Award for Outstanding Applications of Robotic Technology.

Motion Controls Robotics received the 2014 Sales and Leadership Award and the Outstanding Sales Growth Award from Fanuc.

Multi-Conveyor was presented with ACUITY Insurance’s Safety Award for businesses that exemplify the partnership with ACUITY that helps ensure a safe workplace.

Zip-Pak was named Supplier of the Year for 2014 by Tyson Foods, Inc.
