RAPS launches 2014 global regulatory survey.

The Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) on Jan. 28 launched its survey of professionals around the world who are involved with the regulatory process for healthcare products. RAPS has conducted this research initiative, the Scope of Practice & Compensation Survey of the Regulatory Profession, for nearly 25 years. The survey asks regulatory professionals working in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries; regulatory agencies; academia, consultancies and other settings about their jobs, backgrounds, and compensation.

Responses will be collected through March, and a report highlighting the findings will be made available in June. RAPS conducts the Scope of Practice survey every two years. Results from the previous survey can be found in the 2012 report.

“This survey is the largest, most comprehensive study of the regulatory profession,” says RAPS Executive Director Sherry Keramidas, PhD, FASAE, CAE. “Not only does it help regulatory professionals and talent managers benchmark salaries and compensation packages against others in the field, it also provides information for all stakeholders to develop greater understanding about what regulatory professionals do, and why they are so critically important.”

Regulatory professionals can complete the survey online here. Participants receive free advance access to the results, and respondents who have the Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) credential also will receive one point toward their recertification requirement.
