Cove Point Holdings, LLC, purchased the Clysar division of Bemis Co., Inc.

Siemens Drive Technologies opened its Simogear 45,600 sq-ft office and assembly plant in Mauldin, SC.

B&R Industrial Automation Corp. expanded its partner network with the addition of Hartfiel Automation.

Mitsubishi Electric Automation launched a Web site illustrating the effect of its industrial automation solutions on everyday life.

Sealed Air Corp. and Ecovative Design LLC announced an agreement to expand their existing relationship to accelerate the production, sales, and distribution of Ecovative’s Mushroom® Packaging in Europe.

Assemblies Unlimited, Inc., opened a San Diego branch to service the California demand for contract packaging services.

Pregis Corp. acquired Surface Guard.

Illinois Tool Works Inc. signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the Meurer Group, Furstenau, Germany.

Portola Packaging, Inc.’s North American facilities reduced energy usage by almost 30% and recycled approximately 9 million lb of material over the past three years.

Kendall Packaging Corp. plans a 56,000 sq-ft expansion to its Jefferson, WI, facility.

The Midwest Region Sales Team for Balluff, Inc. expanded and moved into a new facility located in Itasca, IL.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Transparent Container Co., Inc.received a 2013 AmeriStar Award from the Institute of Packaging Professionals for their Light Board Assembly Handling Tray.

Bob Wilson was hired as vice president, international division of Intelligrated®.

Serac Inc. announced the following appointments: Acyr Borges, president, and Alan Bonanno, new business developer and marketing coordinator.

Frank Souyris was appointed general manager, robotics unit, of Bosch Packaging Technology.

Eugene Fuchs joined Shibuya Hoppmann as regional sales manager, Northeast.

Donna Dempsey was named executive director of AMERIPEN.

Michael Barnett was appointed business development representative—food and beverage packaging for Multisorb Technologies.

Federal Manufacturing hired John Oliaro as operations manager and Roderick Daly joined the company as machinery sales engineer.

Whitney Blackburn was promoted to branch manager for Hytrol Conveyor Co., Inc.
