On the "green" front in Britain

Rival supermarket group Asda plans to remove all packaging from most fresh produce for a period of three months.

Part of the company's commitment to reduce packaging by 25% this year, packaging will be completely removed from 60 lines of fresh produce. However, fragile goods such as raspberries will remained packed to prevent damage. If shoppers adopt the new policy, it will eventually roll out to the chain's 316 stores.
