Beverage manufacturers participate in hurricane relief effort

Both PepsiAmericas, Inc. and Anheuser-Busch have announced that they will donate financial aid as well as water for communities and cities affected by Hurricane Katrina.

Pepsi will donate $500ꯠ in financial aid, and has pledged financial support to assist employees as the extent of their need becomes known.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the victims who are struggling through the devastating effects of this storm,” says Robert Pohlad, chairman and CEO of PepsiAmericas. “With more than 500 employees directly affected by this disaster, we see our donation as our way of beginning to help family, friends, and neighbors.”

At Anheuser-Busch, more than 825ꯠ cans of safe drinking water have been shipped to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The Anheuser-Busch Foundation has also donated $250ꯠ to Red Cross relief efforts along the Gulf Coast.

"Our sympathy goes out to all victims of Hurricane Katrina, and this donation will help those who have been most affected by the storm," says Patrick Stokes, president and CEO of Anheuser-Busch Companies.
