Hoppman acquired by Japan's Shibuya Kogyo

Shibuya Kogyo Co. one of Japan's leading packaging machinery manufacturers, will acquire the Hoppmann Corp., closing the deal July 2005.

A letter of intent has been signed for Shibuya to acquire 100% of Hoppmann's U.S. shares. This acquisition will allow Shibuya to market their full line of packaging machinery to an exisiting U.S. customer base and to enhance existing Hoppmann sales, companies say.
