PMMI members ship $5.8 billion of machinery, parts

Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (Arlington, VA) machinery builders in the United States and Canada shipped an estimated $5.825 billion in packaging equipment and parts in 2001, according to the Confederation of Packaging Machinery Associations.

Builders from the two countries combined for a 29% share of the $19.863 billion global market for packaging

machinery.

By percentage, Japan, Germany, Italy, and China all enjoyed double-digit market share. The global shipment figures declined by less than 1% from 2000’s $20.021 billion mark. For more information, call PMMI at 703/243-8555.
