Nanotechnology to grow in packaging

In HBA, household care, packaging, and leisure wear and equipment, the global market for nanotechnology is expected to reach $4,117 million by 20115.

According to robotics.tmcnet.com, global markets for nanotechnology will grow impressively in the next five years or so. Safety features centered on freshness indicators and antimicrobial / aroma resease will receive considerable attention. So will interactivity, where nanotechnology becomes a tool to make the interaction between package and consumer more meaningful.

All the details are spelled out in a new study, “Key Products and Players, Global Markets and Applications for Nanotechnology in Personal Care, Cosmetics, Household Care, Packaging and Leisure Wear & Equipment,” from Research and Markets. Perhaps the most remarkable factoid: the global market for nanotechnology in the areas covered in the study are expected to reach $4,117 million by 2015. That’s up considerably from $2,156 million in 2009.
