Packaging industry mourns loss of Mark Garvey

Mark Garvey, president and owner of Garvey Corporation, Blue Anchor, NJ, died Monday May 15th at the age of 55.

Born in Hammonton, NJ, he was raised and lived there most of his life. Mr. Garvey was a member of the following organizations: the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute, where he served as Chairman of the Board in 1994, Eastern Equipment, Institute of Packaging Professionals, International Machine Tool Builders Association, and the Packaging Education Forum. He lectured about manufacturing lines at various universities and trade associations throughout the country. Mr. Garvey is survived by his wife Rita; two sons, Ben and Jake; his daughter, Sarah; two brothers, Thomas Garvey, Jr. and John Garvey; three sisters, Diane Fucetola, Elizabeth Penzaand and Marie Phero.

He was one of the true innovators in packaging machinery, but more importantly, had an incredible sense of family.
