Abbott's Begley to speak at bar-code seminar

Chris Begley, senior vice president of Abbott Laboratories, Abbott Park, IL, will keynote the Pharmaceutical Bar Code Summit, as part of the Frontline International Supply Chain Week, Sept. 17-18 at McCormick Place North, Chicago.

Begley will share details on Abbott’s success in adding bar codes to 100% of his company’s hospital injectable pharmaceuticals and intravenous solutions, a program that covered more than 1ꯠ products. The Summit, hosted by the Uniform Code Council and co-hosted by the Healthcare Distribution Management Assn. and the Institute for Safe Medication Practices, will include speakers from Baxter Healthcare, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, and Pfizer, among others.
