The General Accounting Office released results of an eight-year study which indicated that between Fiscal Year 1994 and Fiscal Year 2001, FDA cut back on required inspections of medical product manufacturing facilities and reviews of over-the-counter pharmaceuticals and generic products in order to provide employees with annual pay increases.
