Dispensing convenience

Empacados, a leading marketer of foods sold in the Mexican market, recently converted two of its major spice lines.

Pw 7780 Empacados

The Pragna and Tzari lines, to the Flapper® closure from Weatherchem. Pedro Chapa, general director of Empacados, says the standard, continuous-thread cap with a sifter fitment was replaced for a variety of reasons.

“This is a premium-quality package,” says Chapa. “The Pragna spice line is a gourmet product that is sold in grocery and club stores all over Mexico. Conveying the image of premium quality is crucial to maintaining our brand’s high-end reputation.”

The new closure also brings dispensing convenience that consumers love, says Chapa, and it helps the product stand out on store shelves.

Empacados uses a 63-mm closure for its Pragna line and 53-mm for Tzari. Both are injection-molded polypropylene. Containers are PET for Pragna and polyvinyl chloride for Tzari. Pressure-sensitive paper labels decorate Pragna bottles, and a shrink-sleeve label goes on the Tzari line.
