Notable for the cyclone molded into its back panel, the bottle “defies the laws of physics,” says Yousef Zaatar, vice president of product manufacturing and development at Bacardi Bottling Corp., Jacksonville, FL.
Most defiant from a laws-of-physics standpoint is the center of the cyclone, which is more than 1/8” deep. Making such a container requires the most fastidious attention to all blow-and-blow glass-making parameters, says Zaatar. Saint-Gobain is the maker of the award-winning container.
The three clear 2.5-mil polyolefin pressure-sensitive labels that adorn the container are all from Spear. They’re carefully positioned so as not to block the view of the bottle’s signature cyclone on the back panel. All three labels are screen-printed. The front top is in one color plus gold hot-stamping, the front bottom is four colors plus hot stamping, and the side label is printed in three colors. —PR
