Print Design and Graphics Limited (Newcastle upon Tyne, England) releases its new ovenboard lid for ready cook meals. Lid seals directly on to CPET food trays, dispensing with the need for a clear film seal and printed oversleeve.

During the cooking process, the lid self-vents and, when ready, peels away cleanly from the tray. According to the company, lid cuts down on the amount of packaging by 20%. The Cpetal (CPET automatic lidding) is produced by bonding a new heat seal film to SBS board, which can be printed and varnished on PDG’s 6-color Komori presses.
