Open Date Systems (Grantham, NH) has introduced a new hot-stamping foil that uses aqueous instead of solvent-based coatings. ODSI-EStar is suited for date and lot coding on pharmaceutical products.

ItÕs coated onto a 9-micron (.36-mil) backing film, instead of the standard 12-micron (.48-mil). Rolls are up to 60% longer than rolls wound to the same diameter, reducing the number of roll changes.
