Recently spotted by Packaging World editors at Chicago-area Dominick’s and Jewel grocery stores is a new Barilla pasta line packaged in what appears to be paper/foil-laminated stand-up pouch holding 8.9 oz of uncooked, dry pasta.

Graphics include a fork-filled bite of pasta on a blue background that seems to be printed in seven colors. A representative from the U.S. distributor Barilla America, Lincolnshire, IL, declines to reveal packaging materials and suppliers. She does note that the product is packaged in Italy. Available in four varieties, consumers can find the new line on retail shelves now for $2.99.
