Pregis launches new brand, business unit

Pregis launches new global branding for its surface protection films, cohesive materials, and single-face corrugated products.

Pregis launched a new brand and business unit—SG PolyMask—to service a global market with its surface protection films, cohesive materials, and single-face corrugated products.

The new global positioning is a result of the company’s recent acquisition of 3M’s PolyMask business, coupled with its existing Surface Guard product line and operations.

“There is strong brand equity in both the Surface Guard and the PolyMask names. Combining these two business entities into an abbreviated new name allows us to bring these products together under one brand, while still maintaining continuity. Our goal is to continue to create synergies that lead to business growth by leveraging the full portfolio of Pregis solutions in the market,” says Kevin Baudhuin, president and chief executive officer.

Going forward, Arun Lamba who had been general manager of Surface Guard, will retain the same title for the combined SG PolyMask business. He will oversee product facilities in Aurora, IL. and Conover, N.C. Thor Petersen has been named the vice president of national sales and Harald Riphagen, is now the vice president of international sales.
