A move to change food labels in Turkey could have an impact on companies that want to export products into that country. Turkey wants to adopt GDA (Guideline Daily Amounts)-like labeling, presumably to conform to standards sought by EU members. Turkish changes to food labels include format and text sizes as well as details about energy, sugar, fat, and salt. The CIAA (Confederation of the Food and Drink Industries of the EU) developed the GDA system for nutrition labeling in 2006.
