In China, soft drinks losing their fizz...

While soft drink buying grew 133 percent from 2001 to 2007 in China, sales are now flat.

Price increase and maturation of the market are cited as reasons for slow growth. But some beverages ARE seeing growth. Sports drinks, RTD teas, soy and dairy drinks are growing quickly, perhaps because of the shift towards healthier eating habits in China. Tea-based soft drinks have also found success because they appeal to traditional Chinese tastes.
