African countries to spice up life worldwide...

Demand is high for many spices that provide flavor to food, as well as natural healthcare benefits.

Countries such as the Comoros, Madagascar, Tanzania, and Zambia are exporting vanilla, chili, clove, cardamom, nutmeg, ginger, garlic, and cinnamon in substantial amounts to meet the global demand—a boon to their respective economies. Around the world, growing numbers of ethnic communities are springing up. These communities are demanding greater supplies of unusual spices to replicate their foods from home. Additionally, travelers are bringing home altered taste buds and want to replicate ethnic dishes they sampled abroad. Interestingly, the bulk of the demand for spices comes from the industrial food-processing and foodservice sectors. According to one source, new trade practices and an increase in joint ventures of spice producers will have an impact on the manufacture of spice export packages.
