'Tis the season

Newly revised graphics now decorate Smith Dairy's 30- and 11-oz bottles of premium and low-fat Moovers-brand eggnog. Both products from the Orrville, OH-based dairy are ultra-pasteurized to offer 120-day shelf life. The refrigerated products reached store shelves in mid-October.

Full-body shrink labels are 2-mil polyvinyl chloride printed by gravure in eight colors from Seal-It. Graphics were designed by Smiley Hanchulak. The square bottles are constructed of amber PET.

"Last year, when we first introduced our egg nog in these bottles, our sales went up dramatically," says Penny Baker, marketing manager for the dairy. "This year, we expect to sell even better."

The long shelf life permits Smith to market its egg nog to much more distant markets, Baker says. "We can now ship to the East Coast and to more locations throughout the Midwest, too," she adds. "The colorful graphics not only catch the consumers' eyes, but also the retailers like to liven up their dairy cases."

Suggested retail prices are $2.39 for the 30-oz bottle, $1.19 for the 11-oz Elf Nog.
