Software service streamlines packaging process

Allergan, Inc., is an Irvine, CA, global pharmaceutical company that develops and commercializes products for eye care, neuromodulator, skin care, and other specialty markets.

The company recently began to streamline its international labeling business across 32 locations in the United States, Europe, Asia, Australia, Middle East and Canada with PaxPro, a global brand and packaging software service from Paxonix.

Allergan uses PaxPro's workflow, collaboration, routing/approval, project management, and version control to automate standard operating procedures, previously performed via hard copy and manual means.

"We conducted an exhaustive review of available solutions to find a product that provided specific answers to our challenges," notes Barbara Luhmann, Allergan's director of global compliance and labeling. "These included the ability to complete and maintain a validated state. Our standard operating procedures have been streamlined inside Allergan and among all our external suppliers."

In recent news, Paxonix has also been implemented at Philips Lighting. The company was chosen by the lighting manufacturer to streamline the packaging process across all lighting product lines in North America. They're using PaxPro's workflow, collaboration, digital asset management and version control to fully automate their complex packaging processes for more than 2ę·” lighting products.

"Innovation is the heart of Phillips worldwide. To enable innovation, we are rigorous in our use of proven technology and operational best practices," says Carolyn Kerr, director of brand experience at Philips. "We selected PaxPro to reduce the repetitive tasks associated with the packaging process and to enable us to speed products to market with the greatest degree of brand consistency possible."
