Glue-applied labeling system

A rotary-style labeler for glue-applied, wraparound labels has a hot melt applicator that delivers adhesive to two separate guns, one at the label pick-up and one at the lap seam station.

This replaces a more traditional system where containers come in contact with open adhesive wheels to receive adhesive. Because adhesive is delivered directly from the hot melt applicator to the guns in a closed system, adhesive is not exposed to ambient air until it’s sprayed onto a container sidewall. This minimizes adhesive degradation and charring as well as the need to change adhesive and clean encrusted roller surfaces, wheels, doctor blades, and scrapers. Controlled Fiberization™ glue guns apply spiral-shaped dots or swirls of adhesive.
