of Rhyl, Wales. Sold primarily through foodservice outlets but available also in the supermarket, the bottles debuted last May. The bottles are produced by PLM Redfearn (Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England). Decantae is bottled at its source in the Snowdonia foothills once inhabited by the ancient Celtic tribe from which the water takes its name. "The country's finest Natural Mineral Water deserves the country's finest bottle presentation," says Decantae chairman John Andrews. "Thanks to PLM Redfearn, we believe we now have it, and judging by our customer's reaction, so do they." Decantae commercial manager Steve Rowe says that from a materials cost standpoint, the ACL-decorated bottle costs about 2% more than the bottle plus glue-applied paper labels used formerly. But manufacturing costs are down about 10% now that Decantae no longer has to apply its own labels, and sales are up about 10%, too. Rowe says the 250-mL bottle retails for 45p(74¢) and the 750-mL for 85p ($1.40).
