High-speed additions have been made to the Powervision® family of machine vision products from Acuity Imaging (Nashua, NH). Powervision 900 and 920 use a proprietary technology called Power Pipeline Board, which allows one image to be processed as another is being acquired.
RBU/RBS reheat machines for stretch/blow molding of PET and PP containers are available from Bekum (Williamston, MI). RBU 225 and 445 use technology that stretch/blow molds preforms into clear, glass-like containers for juice, water and milk products.
Matthews Intl.'s (Pittsburgh, PA) Jet-A-Mark® CIJ-6700 ink-jet printer prints small characters onto most packages. A removable hand terminal allows message programming and editing, while daily functions are controlled with a built-in interface.
General Packaging Equipment's (Houston, TX) line of automatic liquid vertical form/fill/seal machines can now produce bags with screw caps. Bags must be made of a heat-sealable material, and can be as large as 14" x 22".
