The ball tracks of the SLME each have 4 contact points, providing high dynamic load (up to 27kN) and moment (up to 1410Nm) capacities. This allows the design to be smaller and more compact, by eliminating separate guiding systems. Well-suited for industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, laboratory automation and electronic component assembly, the SLME includes the following features: steel U-shaped guide rail to provide rigidity in all directions; guiding surface ground into steel body, eliminating the need for separate internal guiding rails; two ball tracks (sizes 23 and 30) and four ball tracks (size 46) allows for high load and moment capacity and smooth operation; precision rolled ball screw that provides positioning accuracy of +/-0.001mm and repeatability of +/-0.005mm.
Compact linear actuator
Festo introduces its SLME, a ball screw-driven linear actuator that uses a fine-pitch ball screw and recirculating ball bearing guide designed to achieve high accuracy and repeatability.
