Glassy sophistication

Glass containers from 12 packaged goods companies were awarded the 2008 Clear Choice Awards from the Glass Packaging Institute (www.gpi.org).

Pw 6962 Clear Choice Mojito1
Recognized for Overall Package Design was the bottle for Rose’s Mojito, a line of non-alcoholic mojito mixers from Plano, TX-based Cadbury Schweppes Beverages Americas. Vitro Packaging (www.vitro.com) makes the 21-oz angled glass bottles, which retail for $6.49.
The bottle’s rightward curve is designed to communicate sleek, trendy sophistication. The designer bottles also nest neatly side-by-side to create an eye-catching display.
Shelf impact is enhanced by 2-mil biaxially oriented polypropylene label that is printed in nine colors by Brook & Whittle (www.brookandwhittle.com) in a process that combines UV flexo and screen printing.
