Squid Ink Manufacturing, a manufacturer of coding and marking systems for product identification and traceability, introduces the CoPilot® Max LT long-throw printing system. With up to 2.8” of print height per printhead, print speed of up to 440 fpm, and up to a half-inch (12mm) throw distance, the CoPilot Max LT offers a versatile yet cost-effective solution for a variety of product coding and marking applications. For users that require more print in a single pass, the CoPilot Max LT can run up to 2 printheads from one controller.
CoPilot Max LT’s increased throw distance makes the printing system an ideal solution for users to make their mark on overfilled cases, angled or recessed surfaces, irregular-shaped products, or product lines with inconsistent handling. Additionally, Squid Ink’s CoPilot Max LT printing system is designed to print superior-quality, hi-resolution characters on porous or non-porous surfaces. For applications that require immediate dry times on non-porous surfaces, the CoPilot Max LT also has the capability to run UV LED curable inks.
CoPilot Max LT utilizes Squid Ink’s revolutionary active ink system, allowing users the ability to tilt or rotate the printhead in any direction without making height adjustments to the 500ml cartridge ink supply. The system prints hi-resolution characters, razor-sharp text, scannable bar codes, and great-looking logos at up to 360 dpi vertical resolution. Horizontal resolution can be modified to boost line speed. For example, the CoPilot Max LT can print up to 440 fpm at 150dpi horizontal resolution or 220 fpm at 300dpi horizontal resolution.
A 4.3” full-color touchscreen that allows users to access the system’s internal messages and print functions. Messages are created and edited on Squid Ink’s easy-to-use Orion™ PC Software and transferred via USB, Ethernet, wireless, or optional Windows® tablet. The tablet is ideal for users who want message creation and editing functionality on the production floor.
