AutomationDirect: Aluminum worm gearboxes

Designed for use with electric motors for reducing output speed, increasing torque, changing drive direction, or running two loads from one motor in applications such as conveyors, packaging machines, and rotary tables, AutomationDirect’s aluminum IronHorse worm gearboxes line has been expanded to include five frame sizes, with gear ratios from 10:1 to 100:1.

Constructed of aluminum alloy housings, the worm gearboxes are designed with a C-flange input and hardened hollow-bore output shafts.

Aluminum IronHorse worm gearboxes are available in 30 to 75mm box sizes and feature double-lipped embedded oil seals to prevent leakage, epoxy paint inside and outside the reducer to prevent corrosion, and double bearing sets on both shaft ends. Designed to change drive direction by 90 degrees, the gearboxes are mountable in any direction, except motor pointing up; the maintenance-free reducer requires no vent plug or breather.

Optional single and double output shafts, output flanges, torque arms, and output covers are also available.
