As with previous versions, Version 7 breaks traditional DCS limitations by offering a platform that integrates new and existing automation systems and devices within a single platform. System also features common tools for engineering, visualization, and plant-wide asset and maintenance management. New capabilities include improved configuration and change management, redundant fieldbus with safety communication, integration of foundation fieldbus, smart alarm management, industrial/cyber security, and plant asset management and condition monitoring.
