Electro Cam Corporation: PLS simplifies PLC setup

Electro Cam (Roscoe, IL) has introduced a PL-1746-C02/C03-R1-S Plug-in Module for Allen-Bradley PLCs that has the ability to turn on outputs based on a product-present input signal from sensors such as photocells or proximity switches.

When the input is received, the corresponding output is enabled to turn ON within the same “revolution” or product cycle. If the output is not required until several cycles after the input, the new shift register option can be used in the PLS module to accomplish the task. This new shift register feature is said to simplify PLC programming and save PLC memory space.
