Rockwell Automation: Bar-code reader

Rockwell Automation/Allen- Bradley (Milwaukee, WI) has introduced a new 2-D Fixed-Mount PDF 417 bar-code reader that can scan and decode both linear (1-D) and PDF 417 2-D bar codes, providing end-users with more bar-code scanning options.

It has a scan rate of 560 scans/sec, with a reading distance of up to 30", based on bar-code width. Compatible with a range of bar codes, including Code 30, Code 128, I 2 of 5, UPC-A and UPC-E, EAN-8 and EAN-13, Codabar and PDF 417.
