CNC machining operations provide surface finishes from 125 RMS to 8 RMS, depending on the application. Standard flatness tolerance is 0.005", but other specifications are available. Secondary coatings such as Teflon® or Nickel can be added to enhance surface performance characteristics. Heaters can also accommodate a host of mounting options, including threaded holes, cast-in stud terminals, or mounting tabs. The efficient heat transfer characteristics of the cast-in design offer higher wattage outputs and longer life cycles than other heaters used in these applications.
Cast platen heaters
Durex Industries offers cast platen heaters as a durable heat source for commercial applications. Platens can be manufactured with a thickness of 1/2" or greater, and a rugged tubular heating element is distributed evenly to provide a uniform temperature pattern across the surface.
